Today the ship continues through the Johnstone Strait and Blackney Pass into Queens Charlottes Strait. Sailing North Westerly course through Queens Charlotte Sound all the way to through Dixon Entrance and around Point Cornwallis
Neither of us have a good night. Strange beds! We are a little late rising. I ring to see if Nancy is up, she isn’t! She had a disturbed night also. It’s actually much quieter in the stateroom area than I expected. Our room was pitch black at night and our sea view window is covered with a pleated blind. Our attendant does everything for us. Our personal valet! Such luxury!
By the time we get to the Grand Dining room it’s closed for breakfast so we go up to the Resort deck and have breakfast in the self-service Island Café. You cannot imagine the vast amount of different food is on offer for breakfast. I breakfast on fresh fruit followed by smoked salmon and croissants.
We’re cruising north in open sea today so there’s not much to see. The Captain made one announcement that a whale had been briefly spotted but by the time we had got to the port side it had predictably disappeared!
There are lots to do on board; the whole day from 6am to 11pm has a vast list of different activities any one can participate in. There’s also a gym, a basketball court, a jogging track, a spa offering all sorts of treatments. There’s a well-appointed peaceful library, meeting rooms, card rooms, a cinema, a theatre and several different lounges all offering different genre of live music. Then there are the small shops and a duty free shop, one passage has art works for sale and another has the on-board photographer daily pictures displayed.
During the day we wander around the deck watching the passing scenery along the Inside Passage or sit in one of the loungers on the Resort deck catching the sun.
Tonight’s dining experience is a Formal Dress affair. So we don our finery and go to the dining room.
We decide that some passenger’s idea of ‘formal’ differs somewhat to ours. The evening dining is always at the same table with the same waiters. We five have a table to ourselves and our waiter for the cruise is an Indonesian guy caked Ketut and the assistant waiter is from Croatia and his name is Darko. They look after just two tables and are so helpful and attentive. They both are really lovely happy guys.
The film today is ‘The Kings Speech’ so in the evening Nancy and I go to one of the several showings before catching a theatre show.
