It was fast and furious. The 7th and final game of the Stanley Cup. Ice hockey at its best. The Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins played a blinder of a final game. The Bruins managed to slip the puck past Roberto Luongo Canucks goal keeper five times. The Bruins keeper, Tim Thomas had more luck on his side as he managed to keep the puck out of the Bruins goal. While The Canucks played a better game the Bruins defence out manoeuvre the Canucks and cause their downfall in the final game.

Roberto Luongo and Tim TaylorThe Stanley Cup, notably the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America, was donated in 1892 by Sir Frederick Arthur Stanley, Lord Stanley of Preston and son of the Earl of Derby. He purchased the trophy for 10 Guineas ($50.00 at that time) to be presented to "the championship hockey club of the Dominion of Canada." The first team ever awarded the Stanley Cup was the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association in 1893.
Since 1910, when the National Hockey Association took possession of the Stanley Cup, the trophy has been symbolic of professional hockey supremacy. Beginning in 1926, only NHL teams have competed for this prized trophy.
The Canucks fans unable to get tickets for the game in the home of the Canucks, the Rodgers Arena, have congregated in their thousand in the Beautiful Down Town area of Vancouver. Large screen television screen have been erected for each game, Porta loos provided and Liquor Stored shut at 4pm at the request of the police. Six games were gloriously happy went off with no problems. No problems were expected after the 7th and final game.

Unfortunately like many large events it attracts a minority of hooligans with the intention of creating anarchy, and they did. The area turned unto a battle Windows smashed, stored looted and Cars overturned and set on fire.

Loyal fan, the watching media, and whole world of Ice Hockey fans watched in horror as these stupid idiots caused mayhem and damage to one of the worlds most beautiful cities. But worst of all was the spectacle of fans watching the criminal damage taking place and capturing images on their phones. One wonders if these people prolonged the carnage giving the savages a platform to continue their excesses. How many of these pictures and videos will be uploaded to YouTube.Will the police watch these videos to identify the perpetrators and prosecute them. I do hope so. The parents of some of these teenage Kids also need to know and take responsibility for their actions as well.
