Go Go Go Vancouver

Friday June 8th.

A quiet day today. I'm not feeling great. Just one of those off days. Couldn't be bothered to go for a swim either.

Nancylee collected us at lunch time to go to Empire. A restaurant in Richmond. Nancy's sister Margaret is hosting today's lunch. Her youngest daughter Allison is there too, as well as Mrs Chen, their mother, and Diane, Nancy's oldest sister, and her husband Stanley.
We've been to Empire several times before on previous visits. Their Dim Sum is good. The food a little slow to come first then came fast and furious.
Later, after a restful afternoon back home, Nancylee collected me from home once more and we returned to Moores the men's outfitters were, this time, John was fussed over and kitted out for the cruise. I picked up more clothes for 'Himself.' The clothes we chose yesterday were in the stores 2 for 1 sale. But John couldn't find clothes to fit him in the compatible items. The 'Bogoff's' were too good to pass up on so Dave has got more formal clothes .I think we will have to leave one outfit here as there will be too much to pack in August to take home.
Back home again the Canuck's fifth game is being screened on the TV. It started while we were in the store. The manager turned the piped store music to the game. Now, it's in the final period and no score, Then a hugh cheer goes up in the neighbourhood. The Canucks score with 17 minutes to go, and what a tense 17 minutes. The puck went up and down the ice at breakneck speed followed by the players, smashing into the Plexiglas walls around the rink and into each other. No fights broke out as the players concentrated on their game. The Canucks Italian goalie did his work today and kept the puck out of the net. Fans were so angry with his previous two performances so tonight he redeemed himself. The game finished with the Vancouver fans in a roar of riotous cheering, estactic with their 2/1 win. All eyes now will be on Monday's match, back in Boston. If the Canuck win that one they've won the cup. If the Bruins win it's back to Vancouver and all to play for in the 7th and final game. Ha Ha I'm getting into this game. I still don't understand it. But, boy its exciting!
