The weather forecasters have got it wrong once more. This morning dawns bright and sunny. Yesterdays winds have cleared away the rain clouds leaving yellow and brown leaves covering paths and gutters. Blustery winds had fetched them swirling off the trees like large snow flakes.
Nancys not well again. Her sinuses have got the better of her again. Leaving her at home to rest Nancylee and I drive to Vancouver to the Loomis Art Store. Unfortunately they haven't got the paint or canvas I want so we head off to Granville Island.
The sky is clear blue with fluffy marshmallow clouds and the Island is warm and sunny. The island is buzzing this morning. Families out enjoying the sights of the Island and the late autumn sunshine mill about the shops, piers and the market. Buskers and street performers are scattered through out the island. People sit along the boardwalk at the waters edge eating food chosen from the food stalls in the market. Seagulls swoop past watching for any spare titbit's of food. The water in the harbour is so deep and crystal clear.
We head off for Opus the large art store and get paint and a black canvas. The choices here are phenomenal and the store is busy.

Such a beautiful late Autumn Day
Clear blue skies and clear blue water
Walking along the boardwalk we met this First Nations guy carving bears from soap stone and struck up a conversation with him. The bears were so cute and tactile I just had to ask him if they were for sale. His name was Jeff Magun and he considered himself a protector of the bears and any money he makes helps to protect them.
My soap stone bear he's so tactile. I love him.
We spend a little time wandering aroung some of the beautiful craft stores looking at paintings sculptures and woven fabrics. Some of the fabrics and garments are so incredible beautiful. Leaving Granville with a bag of Lee's donuts we head for home stopping off at a yarn store to pick some more yarn.
