Opus

Frames to go.
Monday morning, cold, wet and grey. The mountains are invisible today. Nancylee arrived early, shame on us no ones up! I'm supposed to be ready to go to Opus on Granville Island to get paintings frame. Nancy had decided to stay home and have a quite day but she changed her mind and came with us.
The drive into Vancouver went without too much traffic problems. Deciding on the mount matting and frames took much longer. I don't think Nancy realised how long it would take! Eventually we decided on all the framing for five paintings and order materials we needed. Two paintings belong to Nancy and the rest are Nancylees. It was 12. 30 before we finished so we decided to drive across to Kitsilano and have lunch at 'Banana Leaf' a Malaysian restaurant on West Broadway.
We start with Chicken satay, vegetable spring rolls and rosti Canai, a flaky layered bread. This was followed by a bowl of Singapore Lasksa, a Rice Noodle and coconut soup base flavoured with dried shrimp, lemon grass, chili, garlic and turmeric and containing egg, chicken, fish cake, bean sprout, tofu, squid and shrimp
Malay food is quite spicy and a new experience to me. The flavours are delicious and I enjoy the meal.
before we set off for home we do a little shopping in the shops along Broadway. mainly for cards. Birthday and celebration.
