Christmas Eve

Early evening on Christmas Eve we get glammed up and await the arrival of out transport to Nancy Lee and John's home. On arrival the delicious smell of cooking hits us. Our bags of presents are placed under the tree along with an very large stack of other presents. Nibbles arrive on the coffee table Drinks are served and we settle down in front of the fire to await the other guests. Very soon Margaret and Grandma Chen arrive. More packages go under the tree. They are followed by Bob and Sally Breen and even more parcels.
The tree is smaller this year to be Rudy protected.
The floor under and around is soon surrounded
by packages bags and boxes
The Chef Hosts are busy doing the gourmet meal prep.

Guests arrive and we snack on nibbles.
Grandma Chen Margaret and Nancy
A full complement of guests. Bob and Sally, Dave, me, Margaret, Grandma Nancy and John
Nancy Lee is the photographer
The food is delicious. Perfectly cooked prime rib, goose, Dauphin potatoes. sweet potato mash,
steamed vegetable selection and Yorkshire puddings
We're stuffed but......
There's dessert to come. It has to be delayed for allow for digestion!!!
This English trifle with a French Twist cannot be neglected for long.
The aftermath!!!!!
Close to Midnight we give our gifts and open parcels. Then suddenly the crackling log Christmas fire on the television behind us goes out preceded by a large snowflake and this sign appears It says "Don't pout because the fire is out, Santa's near." At Midnight theres a rush of sparks and the fire relights. It causes much amusement.

It's been a lovely festive evening but time to head home to bed.
Merry Christmas
