Yesterday as we drive up to the Kerrisdale district of Vancouver the mountains are dark and brooding with their summits shrouded in rain clouds. It's another grey wet day. Do we mind, no we don't! We're off to Adonia Tea House for Afternoon Tea.
"Kerrisdale is primarily a residential area, and has many long-time residents. Its residential streets are lined with sweeping, grand old trees. Kerrisdale Village is the main shopping area, and one of the first to introduce specially designed street furniture to beautify the main shopping streets. Kerrisdale is in the south-western section of the city, sloping down to the Fraser River."
Adonia Tea House was established in 2003 by Ping Chou. There were other Tea Houses in and around Vancouver before Adonia but none can come up to the standards set by Ping and her team. This tiny comfortable Tea room is tucked into the noisy shopping street of Kerrisdale. Inside theres an aura of calm.

| English Royal Albert China |
Our reservations were made for 12.30 but we are a little early. Not a problem our table was ready. It was set with delicate English bone china in the classic Royal Albert Country Rose design.
After perusing the vast list of teas available we made our choice. Darjeeling, a light tea blended from three crop periods. Irish Cream, a black tea flavoured with the taste of cocoa whiskey and vanilla and Night in Paris, a white tea with hints of vanilla and lavender.

Yes we did and it was all delicious. Afternoon Tea at lunch time!!! So what......with food like that we eat it at breakfast!!! ......and those scones...I can honestly say I've never had such delicious scones. If I was still a baker I'd be after the recipe.
