Christmas morning arrives crisp cold and clear. A lovely sunny day. At lunch time we go to Nancy and John's home once more. After lunch we don warm clothes for a walk along the Dyke. The Dyke to us Brits is a Sea Wall designed to keep the sea from the low lying residential land mass. On the land side is a ditch or dyke where any water washed in from high tides or storms is pumped away by a series of pumping stations. Richmond is an island of low lying estuary land formed by the accumulation of silt formed between the two branches of the Frazer River, It was originally called Lulu Island. The sea side of the Dyke is a wide marsh and reeded strip of land the edges are littered with decaying logs from the logging camps of much further inland along the waterways.

Later in the evening we go to Jade Seafood Restaurant to meet up with Steve Galloway and his daughters for an evening meal. We started with peking Duck followed by lobster and many more seafood dishes and ended with a delicious cream cake we brought with us.

| We booked early and it was a good job we did because although we thought it wouldn't be too busy as it was Christmas evening it wasn't long before the place was heaving with tables being filled as soon as people left. When we left at 9pm there were families still waiting for tables. |
