The Weather Warms Up at Last

Saturday July 3rd.

I wake this morning to blue skies and the promise of  beautiful day. Little fluffy white clouds scutter across the sky. My swim this morning is a pleasure rather than a chore. I daren't spend more than 40 minutes in the water though. I rather not finish up with burnt skin as I'm well aware the water magnified the sun's rays.
The rest of the day, we three seniors spend relaxing, just doing what we feel like doing, which to be truthful isn't much at all. Quite allot of napping went on in the warmth of the afternoon.

Nancylee and John are hosting a barbecue this evening. Ralph and Daniel are joining us as well. A jolly party is assembled as we enjoy the only civilised summer barbecue drinks. Large glasses of Pimms. How Spiffing!
Later thoroughly stuffed with inch thick tender, steaks, wieners, Calgary cowboy beans, baked potatoes, asparagus, sweetcorn and salad, we decide leave the delightful outdoor setting  to escape the biting clutches of the vicious West Coast mozzies. These peskie little blighters seem to be immune from the perfume of the citronella candles

So what do you do after a barbecue, well, John is immersed in trying to 'feed the frog with candy', Don't ask! It's a compulsive and annoying game on Ralph's ipad. We've all had a bash at it. Well except for one of us, that's 'Himself' of course he's surrounded with his usual required reading materials and engrossed in the contents!

As you can probably see the young Royals are still making headline news here in Canada and despite not coming to BC have made the front page here in the Vancouver Sun..
