Monday July 25th
Not a busy day today. I've got back into routine, the pool at 10am as soon as it opens, not too bad this morning but definitely warmer in the water. Some high light sketchy clouds and a cooler wind/breeze.
Lunch at the Flying Beaver today. It's a Pub, oh no it's not, it's an Airport. OK well, it's both, but not strictly a Pub it's called a Bar and Grill. The Airport or Seaport to be correct, lounge is a busy popular Pub. Strange place to have a Pub I know but it is. Monday afternoon, not quite 1pm and its heaving and noisy. Possibly cos the foods excellent here. And, it's the jumping off point for seaplanes to the Islands.
This building is a pier really built out over the Fraser River. Its constructed out in the river on large pine, or maybe cedar, not sure! beams rough planed and rustic. The buildings large, windows face the water on two sides and there's a covered conservatory and an open deck to eat on as well as the main building. In the spacious entrance are comfy sofas for waiting passengers and a check in counter. Nothing formal here.
This large eagle with salmon hovers over my head while we eat our excellent salads. Mine is a crab with brie and avocado. The large hanging sign urges patrons to act responsibly.
Outside on the front deck area before the road the building has an attractive well maintained frontage.
The conservatory and deck lounge.
Outside along the wooden pier the planes wait for passengers and take off. There's a helicopter pad as well. Hope they never miss! After lunch we take off , not literally! for Home Depot, 'Himself' need parts for repairs at Nancy's. A botched attempt at a break-in earlier in the year left the Fly screen damaged and it needs fixing as does the door of the small wooden storage hut out front. It's a space for homeowners to store winter tyres in.
Home Depot is what it says, It's everything you could possibly want for furnishing decorating renovating and maintaining the home all under one gigantic roof. Makes my feet ache wandering about. If we had one of these in GB it would have made my renovations much easier. Purchases found and made and a quick dash over the parking lot to Staples before a dash up the road to Tim Horton for a coffee and Tim Bits fix! OOOh it's all go here!
Nancylee and John came back for dinner. Nancylee couldn't resist Nancy's iPad. She found a game for Nancy to play and downloaded the app. During the evening I was sure we would have some wet patches on the couch, the hysterics it generated.
