Travels Again

Aug 1st  Today is a Bank Holiday, B.C. Day in British Columbia.

This last week has been Gay Pride week and culminating in the 33rd  parade yesterday. Ralph and Daniel offer hospitality at their apartment to watch the Parade but Nancylee and John have a sick cat to care for and we seniors are not too fond of crowds now days, so sadly we  decline their offer.  Another missed crowd puller was the Festival of Light, on the 30th. China put on an extravagant display of fireworks over English Bay. On the 3rd Spain will set of their fireworks (we'll be in Victoria) and on the 6th of August it will be Canada's turn to light the skies. Maybe we'll get to see them but the crowds are several deep at all the locations and when you get to our age they don't seem so exciting. Like fair grounds their excitement wans with age. I think aching backs and knees also have an effect in the decline of youthful enthusiasm.
In the morning we're all traveling, with Jaine, across to Victoria on Vancouver Island. We set off at nine in the morning. Staying at the oldie worldy Royal Scot Hotel. The camera will be ready but the posts may be delayed. Who knows!
