Monday August 1st.
It's been over two months since my last chiropody appointment and I felt my feet deserved some pampering. So, we ladies booked a pedicure at the Pure Nail bar in Kerrisdale. Pedicures must be popular here as the Raintree Spa in Stevenson was fully booked until the end of August. 'Himself' refused the offer of pampering his little piggies despite them needing some attention and went off to walk the streets. Window shopping of course.

The next treat was along the road at 'Adonis' Kerrisdale Tea House. Vancouverites do like to remember their links to the Old Country with their take on old fashion high society High Tea.
I do remember this style of High Tea being served in posh hotels when I was a Kid. We only had it when my Grandparents took us out. 'Himself' would occasionally have High Tea in The Savoy Hotel or the Dorchester in London when out with his Mother. Now days, proper High Tea in Britain, would be hard to find. Some tea shops serve a watered down version.
Adonis is a throwback, styled in Victoriana, with Royal Albert 'Country Rose bone china. Tea, is crust less sandwiches small savory snacks and tea fancies are served on a three tier cake stand.
The guys, 'Himself from his walk about, John and Calvin join us. We've already decided what to eat drink, High tea and Darjeeling tea.

The food was so delicious and was soon demolished. Tea was sipped with pinkie suitable (tongue in cheek) extended.
My only criticisms would be that the sandwiches were made with bread that was far too thick so that dainty sandwiches looked like mini doorsteps. Certainly not up to Bucking Palace standards!!! All very nice, but also no crisp white tablecloths or damask napkins! Ah well, this is laid back Canada.
