More Eating and Shopping!

By January 5th Nancy Lee and John have to return to their University  Posts at UBC. Luckily Nancy's two courses are both online so although she has meetings with other Tutors and Students most of their interaction is online which makes her day flexible. On the 5th Nancy has to look after her elderly Mom so we are left to our own devices until every one is free. 

Tuesday the 6th we are picked up by Betty and Cathy, two of Nancy's friends and ex work colleagues. We're having lunch at The Flying Beaver a bar and grill on the edge of the Frazer River on Sea Island , the Vancouver Airport complex. The Building also serves as the arrival and departure lounge and booking in desk for the Sea planes that are constantly flying in and out to the various Island in the Georgia Straits.

7th January Nancy Lee has been called into a meeting at the University so can't drive us to Rain Flower. We were going to take a taxi but Margaret, Nancy's youngest sister picks us up and drops us at Yohan, a Japanese shopping Mall right next door to the restaurant. She then returns to fetch their Mom.  Nancy needs to do some grocery shopping in the Japanese super market while we wander about looking at all the strange and unusual produce, including tanks of live fish waiting to be purchased for cooking.
Soon we walk the short distance to the restaurant where we are having Dim Sum with Margaret, Grandma Chen, Their older sister, Diana and her Husband Stanley.

This is our second visit to Rain Flower as we came before Christmas with Nancy's friends Wai Mum and Alex. Nancy Lee arrives towards the end of our meal. Just in time to finish the 'left overs' and tuck into a few more freshly ordered dishes.
On Friday we amuse ourselves during the day and go to Costco the massive 'sell it all' discount super market in Richmond. Shopping over we head to The Boat House a sea food restaurant near the Vancouver Marina.
